Why???

Why??? This is a simple three letter word that pretty much sums it up for me. I have always wanted to know WHY???, but for over a week now this question has been weighing heavily on my heart. We all know the battle that sweet Lucy Krull is facing. It is a nasty one. I, like everyone else, think of her 100 or more times a day. She is the first thing I think about in the morning and the last thing I think about before I go to sleep at night. I am going to be completely honest here, it makes me so MAD that Lucy is going through this. I just simply do not understand it. WHY?? Why Lucy? Why any young, sweet, innocent child?
My friend Laura and I were just talking yesterday about sin. We know why there is sin. We know that man is the one that caused sin. But I simply do not understand why God cannot make this just go away for Lucy. She doesn't deserve this. I truly have faith in the lord, and I know that God is good. However, there are times I just wonder WHY???.
I have an inspirational CD that I got back before Christmas and I listen to it quite often. On my way to work last week I was playing the CD and this one song came on that really caught my attention. I have heard this song many times, but this one particular day this song really spoke to me. Below Lucy's picture you will find the lyrics of the song. I now listen to this song several times a day during my commute to and from work. I Know Who Holds Tomorrow
I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day;
I don't borrow from it's sunshine.
For it's skies may turn to gray.
I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said;
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For he knows what is ahead.
Chorus
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand;
But I know who holds tomorrow,
and I know who holds my hand.
Every step is getting brighter
As the golden stairs I climb;
Every burden's getting lighter,
Every cloud is silver lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eye;
At the ending of the rainbow,
Where the mountains touch the sky.
Chorus
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand;
But I know who holds tomorrow,
And I know who holds my hand.
I don't know about tomorrow,
It may bring me poverty;
But the one who feeds the sparrow,
Is the one who stands by me.
And the path that be my portion,
May be through the flame or flood;
But His presence goes before me,
And I'm covered with His blood.
Chorus
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand;
But I know who holds tomorrow,
And I know who holds my hand.

While playing outside this weekend, Addie came over and asked me if we could write Go Lucy Go!!! with the chalk. I answered yes and was very happy that my sweet baby was thinking of Lucy. I got busy drawing out the letters and she colored them in as I went. I will continue to pray that God will put his healing hands on Lucy. I will continue to pray for Kate, Erik, and their family that they will continue to stay strong in their faith that Lucy will be healed.

Summer Fun

This summer we went to Eddyville Kentucky to visit the Venture River Waterpark. It really reminded me alot of the Adventure River Waterpark that was in Memphis when I was a kid. We went with Brad's brother and his family. The kids and the adults had a blast.:)

This was Big A coming down one of the slides. She loved this slide because she could do it all by herself.:) I bet she walked up the steps to that slide 100 times.

This was one of our favorites because we could all do it together. Brad said he loved the look on Aniston's face as we were going down.

Big A's Farm Play

Back in the spring the kindergarten classes put on a farm show. It was the cutest little thing. The kids were dressed up like different farm animals or as a cowboy or cowgirl. Big A was a cowgirl. The kids sang and danced to various farm songs. It was great!!!

Big A's Kindergarten Graduation

Last month (I am so far behind) Big A graduated from Kindergarten. It was a very special day for her. She was not only completing Kindergarten but she had her first solo. She and another student were chosen to sing a solo part in the song I Believe I Can Fly. When Big A first told me that she had a solo I picked up the phone and called B. I knew his thoughts would be the same as mine.... WHAT?? She will never do that!!! You see Big A is very timid when it comes to large crowds or even a crowd that has just 3 people:)) Anyway, I told B that we had to be very encouraging and hope for the best. In the end I have to say we were very impressed and proud parents. She had practiced each day and when it came down to it she was ready and not a bit nervous. She had the second solo part in the song and she literally had to sing in front of at least 450 people (probably more...Rob correct me if I am wrong). All in all she did an outstanding job. Way to go Big A. We are very proud of you and cannot believe you are ready for first grade. We love you very much!!

First Limo Ride

Back in the spring Big A got to take a ride in a white stretch limo to McDonald's for lunch. Our school was participating in a cookie dough fundraiser and if a student sold at least 15 items they were allowed to take part in the limo ride. Big A was determined sell 15 items because she wanted to ride in the limo more than anything. She achieved her goal selling 17 items. Go Big A and a big thanks to everyone that helped her out by purchasing cookie dough. You saved her mom and dad a lot of money because we were going to purchase what she did not sell just so she could ride with her friends.:)) What parents will do for their children.

Our ALLSTAR

About two weeks ago we had Closing Ceremonies to wrap up Big A's first ever ball season. She was very excited about going because her friend Lane had told her that they all received trophies. You see to Big A a trophy is like gold.:)) She was very excited when she not only received one but two trophies. Her second was for making ALLSTARS. Big A, mommy and daddy are so proud of you. Your hard work paid off and you will always be our ALLSTAR!!!

Boy Crazy Already?

A few weeks ago went went out to dinner with our friends the Henfling's. We had a great time enjoying seafood and a little adult conversation (with little people voices in the background:)). After dinner we went out and sat on the porch in front of the restaurant and chatted while the kids played. Lil A was running with the big kids most of the time but every now and then this cute little fella Knox would catch her eye and she would have to take the time to stop and give him some sugar. From the looks of the picture I think he liked it. You can see him pulling on her dress. Knox I am sorry to say though that there may be a little competition. She also has a friend at the ballfield.:))

Our Lil Ball Player

This year was Big A's first year to play ball. I cannot believe I am just now posting pictures.......bad momma! B did not really want her to play this year because he thought she was still to young. However, she has done really well and daddy has also enjoyed it very much. The name of her team is Glass Tire. When B decided to sponsor the team Coach Rob told him to choose the team colors. At first, B thought about orange and white but we knew that The Dawsons were not a big fan of the color orange......I don't know why:) So he decided purple and gold like the Chargers. It has been a great season and we have enjoyed it very much. Tonight is their last game so Good Luck girls. Down and Ready!!

Batter Up!!

Big A's Dance Recital

Big A had her third dance recital a few weeks ago. She loves to dance but her favorite part is receiving a trophy. That is all she talks about before and after the recital. I think dance has helped her to not be so timid in front of crowds and has helped build up her self-esteem a bit. I am not sure that this will be something that she will continue to like to do as she grows older but she is really enjoying it now.

Striking a quick pose before we leave.
Isn't she a cute one!

She is to the far right and Lane is beside her in the middle.

Gettin' ready to shake it!!

Cheer position... I guess

First Haircut

Baby Girl getting tickled!

Crazy Kerrie spraying water into her mouth.

I know it has been a while since I have posted. I hope to be able to post more now that school is out. I thought I would start today and try to post once a day until I get caught up:)) The girls and I went today to get haircuts. This was Lil A's first haircut. I have to admit that I was a little worried because of her age. I didn't get Big A's first haircut until after she turned 2 because she didn't have much hair for the first two years of her life. I was surprised how well she did. Our hairdresser Kerrie (we call her Crazy Kerrie) was wonderful with her. She had Lil A laughing so much that I don't think she even knew she was getting a haircut. I was so proud of her. Hopefully we will continue to have great experiences at the salon. Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry...they were taken with my phone.
